Update on Kestrel Cavendish…
Well, now we know why he was lying on his side! Such a lot of what Rehabbers do is observation and, watching young Cavendish yesterday to try and find out why he was lying on his side, led me to discover he had developed a chest infection/mild pneumonia and his breathing was suddenly very laboured. Made an urgent appointment to see my Vet, Robert Lees at Linkswood Veterinary Centre, as Cavendish needed to be on a course of antibiotics to attack the infection. It was obviously easier for him to breath when he was on his side, so mystery solved! Luckily he is continuing to feed himself and we go back to see Robert for another injection tomorrow. As we have caught everything early, I am hopeful for a full recovery but will keep you posted…
