WHAT TO DO IF YOU FIND AN INJURED OWL OR BIRD OF PREY

Contact Owls and Birds of Prey Rescue on 01787 460593 or 07831 339 455 for advice.

Remember, minimum stress is the first requirement as many birds are killed by stress rather than their injuries.

If you can approach the bird and pick it up, then it is in need of assistance.

• Approach very slowly and calmly, put a towel over it, covering the eyes to calm it down, and lift the bird carefully and place in a well ventilated box with a towel or jumper at the bottom.

• Place the box in a quiet, warm, dark place to avoid stress

• DO NOT give food or water

• Record precise details of where you found the bird as we need this information when releasing the bird back into its territory.

• Contact us at Owls and Birds of Prey Rescue if the bird is in Suffolk or Essex

Telephone 01787 460593 or 07931 339 455 and we can arrange to meet up to collect the bird.
