Barton is eating well, albeit in his own inimitable way, but we do get there eventually. Visited my Vet, Robert Lees, at Linkswood Veterinary Centre again this morning for his second jab of antibiotics and will complete the course on Tuesday. He is certainly livelier and now sits on the perch at the bottom of the cage so I await seeing him on the higher up perches before too long. Stunning bird that I hope starts to feed himself soon and gets to fly around. We can only surmise that he has been clipped by a car and this is the ongoing trauma. Simon, who found him on the roadside, is still keeping a watching brief on the road to see if there are any other members of his family there, as this will dictate where we release him once he is fully fit. And fully fit is what he needs to be as, by the end of October at the latest, he must set off on his journey to North West Africa where he will spend the winter, before returning to the UK to breed next year.
