Update on Buzzard Gosfield…
After about a week in the Pre-Release Aviary, being provided with lots of food to make sure he was in tip top condition, we decided today was the day for his release back into the wild. Once he had finished his lavish breakfast, Heidi opened the door and, whereas the birds normally sit there until you have well and truly left the scene, Gosfield was keen to make tracks. Heidi had barely made two steps away from the Aviary and off he went and he had a cunning plan… he headed straight for the tree opposite where the Little Owl chicks are residing and sent them berserk, before heading off over the fields into a distant tree. It appears that the Little Owls had been winding him up during his stay and this was his revenge! He was spotted on the farm on Saturday looking fit and well and we are still putting food out for him in case he struggles to hunt. Fly free little one and have a good life back where you belong…
