Update on Buzzard Coggeshall…
Yesterday was the designated day for Buzzard Coggeshall to go to the Pre-Release Aviary at Wakes Colne. Once she had finished her breakfast, I packed her bags (more chicks!) and off we went. Alex had “changed the sheets and plumped up the pillows” in readiness for her arrival so, after a quick photoshoot, she was able to explore her new surroundings. Looking absolutely stunning and packing lots of weight, she inspected the perches and the nest boxes, to see if they were up to her very high standards, and we left her there to get used to the sights and sounds at the farm. She will have lots of company with the horses, chickens and goats and some opportunistic owls looking for a free meal. In about a week we will open the door, but continue to put food out for her, and leave her whilst she sorts out her own territory and gets on with the rest of her life. My grateful thanks to Alex, Rachel, David and Archie whose combined efforts made this rescue possible. Well done guys, you should be very proud of yourselves!
