Time for the two Buzzards to go to the Pre-Release Aviary…
At long last, their feathers have largely regrown and Alphamstone is fully recovered from his foot infection so yesterday was the day for Rougham and Alphamstone to go to the Pre-Release Aviary in Wakes Colne. Rougham still has some “bum fluff” on his back where the corvids pulled out his feathers but this will not affect his day to day activities. Alphamstone is looking in fantastic nick and this pair of dudes should have an impact on the local female buzzard population once they are released! Will keep them in the Pre-Release Aviary for a couple of weeks so that any further feather growth can be completed and they can get used to the sights and sounds of their new home. As juveniles, they will need to establish their own territories and, as there are not too many Buzzards in the area, they should be able to do this. Will let you know when they get to take to the skies again in the near future…
