Received a call late afternoon today from Catley Cross Vets to say a lady in Halstead had called about a “Hawk” in her block of flats who was terrorising her neighbour and herself if they went out their front doors. Could I help? Went over to Halstead and yes, indeed, it was a young Sparrowhawk who was trapped on the stairwell of the first floor of the flats. They had left all the doors open to the outside but the Sparrowhawk had remained indoors. Managed to catch her in the net and, as she was flying well, released her straight away in the garden at the rear of the flats. She flew off beautifully so everyone happy. Didn’t manage to take a photograph of her so just a generic photograph attached. Thank you to Natalie for caring and making contact to ensure the release of this beautiful bird.
