New House Guest… Kestrel Vivian Leigh
This beautiful Kestrel came in yesterday having been found at Chelmsford Racecourse at Great Leighs by one of the Groundsmen. She could not stand up and kept falling over to one side so looked as if she had hit something. Medicated, hydrated and fed her and she seems to currently have a prediliction for lying upside down, which is not good. Took her to see my Vet, Robert Lees, at Linkswood Veterinary Centre today and he also can find no injuries to her although the only notable thing was that the muscles on the legs were weaker than they should be. Gave her an injection of antibiotics and anti-inflammatories and will see how she gets on, with another dose being administered on Sunday. It seems to have done her good as she is now sitting right way up and preening herself so fingers crossed that this improvement continues…
Sadly Vivian Leigh went rapidly down hill yesterday and passed away overnight. Fly free little one…
